Compliance & Digital Certification
UKNAME.UK coordinates UK compliance Digital Certification where it is included in a package or ordered separately. The certificate level is selected according to the intended commercial purpose and the depth of evidence required.
1. Certification pathway
Level 1 — Identity Verified
Level 1 establishes the legal entity and applicable identity evidence. Typical review areas include the legal name and company number, jurisdiction and status, registered office, relevant current officers and the authority of the applicant. The credential can include a certificate ID, verification PIN, secure QR route, live status, issue/expiry dates, defined scope and certificate history. The level confirms the stated identity scope; it is not a financial, credit, sanctions or legal opinion.
Level 2 — Business Verified
Level 2 adds a more complete corporate review. It can include the Level 1 checks plus directors/control, persons with significant control, beneficial ownership evidence, constitutional documentation, corporate-record consistency and business-activity information. The purpose is to give commercial counterparties a stronger evidence picture. The recipient remains responsible for its own risk assessment, due diligence and approval decision.
Level 3 — Compliance Ready
Level 3 includes the earlier levels and examines readiness for a stated higher-expectation use case. The review can include AML/KYC readiness, corporate governance, operational transparency and document completeness. “Compliance Ready” describes the agreed evidence review and does not mean regulator approval, legal compliance in every jurisdiction or guaranteed onboarding by a bank, payment provider, investor or supplier.
Trusted Business — monitored status
Trusted Business is an ongoing monitored status layered over the appropriate underlying certification level rather than a separate one-time level. It can include monitoring of selected changes to directors, PSCs, registered office, company status and relevant public indicators, together with an annual reassessment and evidence refresh. Material changes can trigger a review, suspension or revocation workflow.
2. Choosing the level
The scope should match the intended decision: for example supplier onboarding, business introduction, banking/payment preparation, procurement, investment review or professional due diligence. The applicant should identify the purpose, confirm the required evidence depth and choose whether a point-in-time credential or ongoing monitoring is required.
3. Application and evidence
After the order is confirmed, the applicant may be asked for company information, authority evidence and documents relevant to the selected level. Clarification or additional evidence may be requested if the initial material is incomplete, inconsistent or insufficient for the defined scope. Submission of an application does not guarantee issue.
4. Issue, validity and status
A certificate is issued only after the provider completes the agreed review and is satisfied that the defined scope has been evidenced. The credential identifies the issue date, expiry or review period and status information. A time-limited certificate may require a new review at expiry. Monitored status requires continued eligibility and periodic reassessment.
5. Suspension, revocation and material change
A certificate or monitored status may be suspended, changed or revoked if material company information changes, evidence is found to be inaccurate, the applicant no longer meets the defined scope or a required reassessment is not completed. A new or updated review may be required before the status is restored.
6. What certification does not do
Certification is an evidence-based credential for the stated scope. It does not transfer decision-making responsibility from the recipient, does not guarantee bank-account opening, payment-provider onboarding, investment, procurement acceptance or regulatory approval, and does not replace legal, tax, financial or sanctions advice.
7. Data processing
Information needed for certification is processed for the agreed review and scope. UKNAME.UK may retain the order record and service communications needed to coordinate the package. The handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Payment and delivery
Payment is requested after the service scope and required client-identification stage have been confirmed. The individual payment instruction is provided through the Client Portal. The certification review begins according to the confirmed order and after the required information and payment conditions have been satisfied.
