Terms of Service
Operational address: 1 Schrier Ropeworks, Arboretum Place, London, United Kingdom, IG11 7FL
These Terms apply to services ordered through UKNAME.UK. The individual order confirmation, quotation or package description forms part of the agreement and identifies the exact scope, price, term and any service-specific conditions.
1. Definitions
UKNAME.UK means the website and service operated by UKNAME.UK LTD. Client means the person or organisation submitting or accepting an order. Service includes domains, hosting, email, website design, Digital Launch Kits, UK business-start services, Digital Certification and related support. Third-party provider means a registry, registrar, payment provider, certification provider, bank, hosting supplier or other specialist involved in delivery.
2. Orders and acceptance
A website order or enquiry is an invitation to prepare the service. Before payment, UKNAME.UK may request additional information, confirm availability, clarify the specification and issue an individual order confirmation. An order becomes accepted when the client accepts the confirmed scope and any required identification or eligibility stage has been completed. UKNAME.UK may decline an order before acceptance where the service is unavailable, information is incomplete, the requested use is unlawful or a third-party provider cannot accept the application.
3. Client information and authority
The client must provide accurate, current information and must be authorised to act for the company, registrant or other person named in an order. The client must promptly correct information that changes. UKNAME.UK and its service providers may request supporting documents when required to establish identity, authority, ownership, address, company status or another fact relevant to the service.
4. .UK domain services
A .UK registration is subject to the Nominet Registrant Terms and Conditions, Registry Policies and DRS Policy in force at the relevant time. The client must provide complete and accurate registration information and respond to any validation request required for the domain.
- Availability shown before submission is indicative until the registry accepts the registration.
- The registrant must provide complete and accurate data that can be validated.
- The client is responsible for ensuring that the requested domain does not infringe third-party rights.
- Renewals and transfers are processed according to the confirmed order and applicable registry/registrar rules.
- Nominet may apply registry restrictions, suspend a domain or require correction/evidence where its policies permit.
5. Hosting and email
Hosting and email are supplied for the period and resource profile stated in the selected package. The client must not use the service for malware, phishing, unsolicited bulk messaging, unlawful material, infringement, attacks on third-party systems or activity that materially interferes with shared infrastructure. Reasonable technical limits and security controls may be applied to protect the platform. Maintenance, emergency work and third-party network incidents can affect availability.
6. Website design and Digital Launch Kits
The client must supply the content, branding, approvals and access information reasonably required to build the agreed website. Delivery times begin when required materials have been received. Unless the quotation states otherwise, changes outside the confirmed specification are treated as additional work. The client warrants that material supplied for publication may lawfully be used.
7. Start Business in UK services
Business-start packages combine separately delivered components such as UK Ltd formation support, domain registration, website design, hosting and Digital Certification. Each component is subject to its own eligibility, evidence and third-party processing requirements. Completion of one component does not guarantee approval or completion of another component.
8. UK compliance Digital Certification
For Digital Certification, the level and scope are selected according to the intended use and evidence depth. Additional information may be requested before a certificate is issued. A certificate records the defined scope reviewed at the relevant date; it does not replace the recipient's own due diligence or guarantee onboarding, finance, procurement or regulatory approval.
9. Prices, taxes and payment
The amount and currency payable are those shown in the accepted order or payment instruction. The public website does not take payment. After confirmation and required identification, the Client Portal provides the payment link or bank instructions. Payment may be accepted through Stripe, Visa/Mastercard, PayPal, UK Faster Payments or UK bank wire. A service may remain pending until cleared funds are received. The detailed rules are on Payments.
10. Renewal
Where a service is annual, UKNAME.UK will communicate the renewal position and amount before renewal. A renewal is not completed until the required payment and any provider requirements are satisfied. Domain expiry and deletion are also controlled by Nominet's registry lifecycle and the registrar's operational procedure.
11. Cancellation and refunds
A cancellation request should be made as soon as possible. Refundability depends on the stage reached. External registry, company, certification, licence, hosting or payment-provider charges already committed may be excluded from refund where the underlying transaction cannot be reversed. Work already performed on a bespoke website or other project may be charged in proportion to the agreed work completed. Any mandatory consumer right that applies despite these B2B-oriented terms is unaffected.
12. Suspension and termination
UKNAME.UK or a relevant provider may suspend or terminate a service where payment remains overdue, required information is not supplied, data cannot be validated, the service is used unlawfully or abusively, security is threatened, or the provider/registry requires action under its rules. Where practicable, the client will be informed of the issue and any available remedy.
13. Third-party services
Some services depend on third-party systems. UKNAME.UK coordinates those services but cannot control registry availability, payment-network decisions, bank processing times, external compliance decisions, internet routing or a recipient's independent due-diligence decision. The third party's applicable terms may also form part of the transaction.
14. Liability
UKNAME.UK will perform the agreed service with reasonable care. To the extent permitted by law, UKNAME.UK is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from a third-party refusal, domain loss caused by client inaction, unlawful client content, compromise of client credentials, external network failure or use of the service outside the agreed purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Intellectual property
Each party retains its pre-existing intellectual property. Client-supplied content remains the client's responsibility. Rights in custom web-design deliverables and any reusable platform components are determined by the accepted package or quotation.
16. Data protection
Personal data is processed as described in the Privacy Policy. Domain and certification services may require relevant data to be processed in order to complete the requested service. Payment data is handled by the selected bank or payment processor.
17. Notices and support
Operational notices may be sent to the email address or Client Portal associated with the order. The client is responsible for maintaining a working contact address. Questions and complaints should identify the relevant domain, order or service so they can be investigated.
18. Governing law and changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory law and any specialist provider terms applicable to a particular component. Updated terms apply to new orders from publication and may apply to renewals where the renewal notice refers to the updated version.
